In the small fishing village with its well-hidden archaeological secrets and with its healing climate, since 1981 SARAKINA has written its own history.
Next to the wave, a small family business was created with the aim of serving and pleasing its customers. It took its name from the Saracen corsairs who in 823 AD, by occupying Crete, made the village’s bay a base for their raids on the sea, controlling the entire Mediterranean.
A few kilometers outside of Heraklion, the capital of the island, far from the hustle and bustle of the modern pace, every visitor can enjoy moments of relaxation, calm and serenity.
For years now at SARAKINA one finds daily fresh local fish, cuttlefish, octopus, and prawns from the fishing nets of Mr. Nikolas and his son Michalis.
Seafood and traditional flavors made with great love and passion, using only pure local ingredients, family-produced olive oil, wild greens, zucchini, tomatoes, lemons and many others from her garden, await for you to taste them and enjoy them.
